Where are the camps located?
Camps are held all over the city of Austin, at local parks within neighborhood
communities.
Since every program is limited to a small number of
campers, it is never difficult to find a program starting up near you.
Frequent Bootcamp Locations:
Dick Nichols District Park (South)
Zilker Park (Central)
Balcones District Park (Northwest)
Lakeway City Park (West)
What if I am not physically fit?
Whether you haven’t exercised in years, or you are a gym rat looking to
break through a plateau, each program is tailored to suit
your individual needs. Every move can be modified to suit your growing
fitness level. Since you are wearing a heart rate monitor, with each
passing week you will actually "see" yourself getting healthier with
a lower heart rate that enables you to withstand more strenuous
exercises. So whether you are starting from the beginning or looking to
shave off those last few stubborn pounds, a CardioFIT program will fit
your unique goals.
What is BMI and what is included in my Body Fat Analysis?
BMI stands for Body Mass Index. Simply speaking, it is a measure of
your weight in relation to your height. A BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 is
considered "normal" in most adults.
At the start of every program and every 30 days thereafter, you will receive a full Body Fat Analysis. A
CardioFIT Austin trainer will go over your past history, any possible
injuries, and your past and present relationship to health and fitness.
We will then discuss your dreams for your body and set specific and
measurable goals over the 90 day period. Every 30 days your trainer
will weigh, measure and calculate your body fat percentage as well as
lean body mass. As you go through the program, you will watch your body
fat percentage fall and your lean body mass increase. We calculate
these numbers every 30 days to give you a mirror as to how you
have performed over the last four weeks, to motivate you to stay powerfully committed to the entire 90 days.
What do I need to bring with me to class each day?
You will need to bring a yoga mat, 5-8 pound weights, your heart rate
monitor, a water bottle with at least 20 oz of water, running shoes,
and comfortable clothes. And of course please also bring your passion
and commitment to change your life!
Is there a refund policy?
If you are unable to attend camp due to circumstances out of your cotrol,
we can offer you a refund if you notify us prior to your session start
date; however we will charge a $50 cancellation fee. After the session
begins we can only give a credit towards the next session.
CardioFIT KIDS
What will my child be doing in boot camp?
CardioFIT KIDS boot camp programs focus on fitness
and nutrition. CardioFIT Austin believes that knowledge is power - with
the proper tools, kids will make good choices about their health.
We will talk about nutrition
in a fun, game-show style manner. We will always properly warm up prior
to exercise and stretch afterwards, with emphasis placed on form.
Each class will work on age-appropriate balance, coordination and strength-building exercises. Games, relay races and obstacle courses
will be implemented, all the while emphasizing that exercise should be
fun in order to make it a life-long commitment.
How is this like any other sports program?
Rather than a skill-based program, a CardioFIT KIDS boot camp class will focus
on challenging every camper to do their very best. Every camper will be
encouraged and motivated in a non-competitive, supportive
environment. Overcoming obstacles in both fitness and life
requires a great deal of inner strength, which will be a common discussion topic throughout the program. Games will be played
emphasizing teamwork, judgement and cooperation. Kids will gain
confidence in their own abilities and will be continually reminded that
with determination and passion, they can accomplish any goal in life.
Will my six-year old be in a class with 10- and 12-year olds?
CardioFIT Austin has developed three different age-appropriate
programs, designed for kids aged 5-8,
9-11 and 12-14. No matter
their age, a CardioFIT KIDS camper will be continually challenged to
try new activities, and build upon previous skills. As the younger kids
learn the basics of nutrition, the older kids will learn how to become
accountable with their food intake and their daily choices. Kids will
advance at their own natural pace as they develop a solid foundation of
balance, strength and coordination.
What will my child need to bring with them to class each day?
Please bring a water bottle, comfortable clothes and sneakers. No sandals, Crocs or
flip flops! Please do not bring your own snacks to class, though occasionally we
will all have snacks together while discussing nutrition.
When registering your child for class, please communicate any
necessary allergy or other health-related information.
